Alaska Peat Inc., is a member of the Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Association and abides by its preservation and reclamation policy.

Alaska Peat’s harvesting activities are conducted in a manner that minimizes risk to public health and safety.

Alaska Peat’s peat resources are developed in a manner which reduces and minimizes environmental impacts.

Implementation

When appropriate, Alaska Peat will consult recognized conservation bodies to ensure policy is complied with and to obtain constructive input.

Alaska Peat will consult Provincial Governments and recognized conservation bodies to ensure appropriate peat bogs are preserved.

Alaska Peat will evaluate and implement, when appropriate, new technologies or methods of peat harvesting operations that enhance our goal of reducing environmental impacts.

Alaska Peat’s preferred reclamation plan will be to return the bog to a functioning wetland.
